I have a Linksys WRT54G router (connected to VDSL d/l 2500, u/l 450) and a VOIP adapter connected to it. Sometimes my conversations have an echo and/or a delay.
Would a MIMO router (Linksys WRT54GX4) enhance my voice conversations?
Is there any particular router you would recommend for this purpose - particularly one with wireless capabilities.
I have 1 computer wired to the router and one (new Toshiba notebook 1 mg RAM)) connected wirelessly by its built in wireless adapter.
Both computers run XP (desktop -PRO and notebook - Home)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The newer ones do have faster processors, and better QoS. One thing to try though, is if your current wrt54g is version 1-4....try Hyper-WRT or DD-WRT third party firmware...it improved on the QoS features.

Thanks for the reply. After reading several of your earlier posts, I had previously installed Hyper-WRT on my version 3 WRT54G.

HyperWRT provides a page Applications & Gaming/QoS/Device priorities that appears to enable me to give upstream bandwidth priority to my VOIP adapter.
Would that help in smoothing out the VOIP communications?
Is there a downside to enabling this feature?

Yes, pending your VOIP service, I have Vonage myself and was haveing the same problem as you. My problem was that I did not have the min upload speed to run my voip. Due to cable upgrading the system here and not saying anything to any one about it. You need a min of 30k up for your VOIP.
I'd say do a speed test to see where your at on upload speed.
