a freind had a slight issue i was trying to help figure out, i had him go to run/msconfig but it wasn't there, had him do a search and it found nothing.

so i googled it and sent him a version for download and it works.

is this a normal thing on dells or is his system wacko ?

can i just have him move the downloaded version to the correct folder inside of windows and will that work for later usage ?

think this maybe a sign of somekinda virus or spyware, he runs AVG and is pretty carefull as far as i know.

Something is wacko with his system. You should be able to put the downloaded file in the right folder without problems.

Pretty sure some early versions of XP Home came without msconfig.

They all have it.
win2k does not have msconfig but you can use the xp version on win2k.
