Ok yesterday on this machine which is a Win2k and IE6 I believe I did a windowsupdate for some critical updates..and now I can't get to some sites such as cnn.com, google, my online banking site for some examples..but I can get to others just fine.. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
I've checked sites I could get to yesterday but now I can't get to them?
solution below!
remove KB 908531, it's a MS update that is broken.

Ok with the help of UOD here... traced it down to a new Windowsupdate that was released KB908531 and I had to do a uninstall of it and a restart and everything is fine now.
seems i wasn't the only one having issues either..

I went ahead and removed it from my XP machine as it seems some users were having issues.

It kills the thin client for Siebel7 too.
Side effect of patching a bad design, vs. coming up with a new, better architecture. Hopefully IE7/Vista will be better.
