Are there any disadvantages in running this OS over standard XP pro?

If you have a TV tuner card, digital camera, or really old printer, then yes lol

Make sure they make teh drivers for your system before you try it. Most HP printers work off the MS x64 driver.

Thats about it. Also get use to having Program Files(x86) and Program Files folders, sometimes things will try to install to Program Files, when they are x86 programs, so you have to select the x86 folder.

My 2 problems are that my sony cybershot camera and leadtek tv2000 card are not supported.

And my problem is the BFG 7900GTX. The present version of Forceware XP64 does not work with it.

Oh well, XP pro will suffice for now.

Thank you guys.

Alan, How do you like using 64? Does it run programs and games any quicker?

Not running it right now, it ran the same as XP to me, Had to reinstall, and since XP will see my sony camera I installed that instead of XP64.

If I had support for the camera I probably would use it still. I don't really have anything that is made for 64bit computing, sure that'll change as time goes by, but for now XP is good, and when I need a 64bit OS I have XP and can probably avoid vista, at least the way it looks now.
