I am attempting to install XP Pro on my machine. However, there seems to be an issue with the promise controller to use the S-ATA HD. The motherboard is a ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
I was running XP Home and in the BIOS it was configured as RAID and XP Home installed fine in the past. It was using 1 hard drive and writing to it, so it really wasn't raid, but it was using the controller to access it...
I went to upgrade to XP Pro and it is not showing the S-ATA HD in the list of partitions, etc to format to install XP Pro on. I tried to change in the BIOS to use the controller as IDE and that didn't work either. The only option for me to format is my HD that is a slave and that is not S-ATA ... it shows all of my linux partitons and other storage partitions on that drive. On the install I have tried to use both the RAID and IDE drivers from a floppy to see if it will recognize that S-ATA HD, but it doesn't...
I am at a loss for any other changes to make or ways to get it to recognize that drive...
