Well once again unto the breech...
I loaded the MVPS Hosts file again.
Amazing how many ad's it disables, but my concern is the last time I did it, was the repercusions from my wifes games @ Pogo.com.
She played fine there last time for a day or 2, then because the ad's werent loading, it stopped her from loading the games.
I was in the doghouse for sure , and for a while.
So , I am trying again, for the simple facts of I hate adware,
and she may growl at me, but so far so good on her games.
The Sponsor ad's in the games background images work, but the ad's that usually run on the window above , again are dead space.
I'll report back if theres an issue, has anyone else seen this same issue before ?
I have my paws crossed this works ok this time. I did ofcourse, use the .bat as well as make my own backup of the original hosts file , just incase.
We are both creatures of old habits , and have a regimen of sites we visit daily , and have now for years , so it's not like Pron ( yes I diliberately misspelled it) sites are in the list.
But my son uses this same pc, and I wanted to help my tasks as master clean up , by limiting the risks.
I already have an extensive Blocked sites list in my IE , so that eases the burden , if just a bit.
thanks once again SpeedGuide for the great forum and education I have had from the time I spent browsing here. :thumb:
