Hi guys, welcome to the dilema of my life, I have now switched over to BE broadband, the worst mistake in my life. They supplied me with the BE BOX which as most of you know is a Speedtouch modem router. The way BE works is strange in that you dont have any username or passord to connect to their service.
I currently have the above wireless router, which has a connection on it whereby you run a rj45 cable from the BE Box's Lan port to the router's internet port. It dectects what internet connection you have on the modem and shares it wirelessly to your network. The nice thing about this router is that it is a mimo router and the reception is really good, the problem is that I cant configure it (nore my old 834gt netgear modem/router) to connect to the internet. As soon as I select the option of no username and password, I dont get an internet connection. Does anyone know how to setup a router for a BE Broadband connection? I am pulling my hair out and am ready to cable the whole house instead. Your feedback will be GGGGRRRREEEAAATTTLLLYYY appreciated.
BTW: this is there reply to my question (which I have done)
"We apologise for the delay. We cannot provide support for your Netgear modem. We provide support only for our modem. If you want the configuartion details to connect to our service then, they are as follows:
vpi=0
vci=101
Multiplexing = LLC Based
WAN Interface works as a DHCP client and there is no authentication required in the modem i.e. no username and password to authenticate
DHCP server is present for the Local area side only
This is the only information required to bring the broadband line up on any modems."
