DSL-Modem Problem.

I have SBC DSL connected to my XP Home OS,it worked fine for the first 3 months,now only 2 out of 5 lights light up on the DSL-Modem,I cant get on the Internet.
A tech from india said it is a bad Ethernet Card,most of them dont know as much as I do about Computers,I dont know much about DSL.
I need all the feedback that I can get,do you think or know what the problem is?

You may have a bad modem. Try to restart the modem with PC off and turn on the PC. If that does not work ask help desk to see if they can ping your modem.

what lights are on and which ones are not lit...

that would be a good start

other than that if you can try it and use the modem via USB if that works then it is obvious if it doesnt it is defo the modem..

good luck though and you have to hate indian support lol
