Hello,

I am using a Dlink DI 624 rev 3 router and I have been noticing that neighbors like to get on my network quite frequently. I know that you can see there Ip addresses in the dhcp list of the settings. I really just want to know how I can either boot them off the network. I know I could use WEP encryption but everytime I've done that it's caused a really bad connection for my pc upstairs.

Thanks in advance.

Does that model support MAC filtering? Enter the MACs of the PCs you wish to connect...and it will only let those PCs connect.

Have you tried WPA security? Easier, newer, more secure.

Hmm I'm not sure if it has mac filtering, didn't see anything about it in the setup. It does have WPA and WPA2 but I tried to enable it and my computer would connect but didn't have internet access. The problem is one of the computers is using a Linksys G USB 2.0 adapter so I think some of the functions don't match up with the router.

I think it is the best way of keeping folks off your network. If they can't get on one of your computers they can't get on your network. Mac address filtering only responds to your specified hardware.

I am working on it right now myself :)
