to some pcs in a lan and work both ips through a speedstream 5400 modem/router?
Until now i managed to have all pcs with internet..anyway the details are as follows.
pc 1 : internal ip 192.168.1.201 mask 255.255.255.0
external ip : xxx.xxx.xxx.71 mask 255.255.255.192
gateway 192.168.1.200 (thats my speedstream 5400)
dns dns-ip of our isp
pc 2 : 192.168.1.202 etc.
the problem is that I have bought the external ips from my isp, i have them entered in the nat/napt configuration page in the web interface of the router, where i assigned the 192.168.1.202 internal ip to the xxx.xxx.xxx.71 external ip of our isp etc.
but i cant ping the external ips, either inside or from outside my lan, which for me means that something is incomplete or wrong in what i did.
In the cisco we have at work, the router there has internal and external ips something that doesnt happen with the speedstream router i have.
also i guess i need to add something to the routing table of the router?
and maybe something is wrong with the connection to the isp?
i think the router should have as ip the first from the set of real/external ips i bought from the isp?
thx for the time you did to read my problem :)
i will now make a change to change the subnet mask of the real/external ips to 255 255 255 0 and check again
