First here are my Specs

Windows Xp Sp2
Sbc Yahoo Dsl 6meg line
Linksys 8 Port Router BEFSR81v3
Speed Stream 5100 modem
On Board Netcard Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast
Hard Wired
4 Computers on the network
PPPoe on modem
Dynamic ip
Qos Packet uninstalled (unconfigured in gpedit.msc)
On a freash partition, format, and install

Here is my Problem: No matter what game I play Counter-Strike, Counter-strike Source, Battle Field 2... I ping from 10ms to 30ms, thats the average pings I like to play at. When I play in the server for about the last 3 months(since I got the 6meg line and ip was changed to dynamic) my bullet holes register simultaneously to the mouse click, but the kill takes 1 to 2 full seconds to register. It is almost like having a 200 ping while playing.

Im not sure what it is, all I know is same games, on same connection run fine on other computers, but on mine I get the 1 to 2 sec delay. Any one help me please.

It won't make all that much difference, but I always like to have the router doing the PPPoE and NAT, you have the Speedstream modem doing the PPPoE, and possibly NAT...then you have the Linksys running NAT again.

How much RAM on your PC? BF2 is a very memory hungry game...at least 1 gig to run decent, ideally a gig 'n a half or 2 gigs.

Have you tried various settings in your games options that relate to your online "rate"..meaning, select your connection type. Often the choices are isdn, or dsl/cable, LAN, etc. Drop it down to a slower connection.

about the pppoe, i have ran pppoe on both the router and now currently on the modem, it seems like there is less of a delay when I run pppoe on the modem.

Atm im running 1 gig of ram, I normaly run 2 gigs, but one of my sticks took a dump, and im having the other shiped, I have played bf2 with the 2 sticks and it is the same thing. The reason I suspect the network, or network settings when I start a lan on BF2 my shots and kills reg simultaneously so if it was the memory it should delay me in lan game also.

Trying to find the problem, so im going to start switching stuff out see if it helps. Just went out and bought new cat6 cable and ethernet card. Hope this does it cus I dont want to have to buy new modem and router.

By the way I read on here that when sbc puts a 6meg line in they put a Netopia gateway modem, infact you said it yeold.

Do you think that could be the problem, also I dont want to run pppoe if I could help it, but my modem wont work on bridge mode, or I have the wrong settings in the router when the modem is on bridge mode... Do you know of a way to make bridge mode work on the speed stream 5100 and linksys router, or do you know if the Netopia gateway modems do pppoe.

Thx
