The fastest i can download is 50kbps and ive tried all these software to make it faster but it doesnt work can someone help me?

the modem speed is 512kbps can i download at 400kbps?

50KBytes is about right if you are capped at 512kbits. So that is about the max you will get.

I am capped at about 1050kbits/sec so i get downloads at an average of 100KBytes/sec.

When you are downloading from the internet, you are seeing bytes/sec.

so how come all these people say that they can download at 400kbps. How? has everyone got a T1 (they must be ****ing rich) pardon my french

It just depends on what your ISP caps you at. Some people can download at 1MB/sec and some at 10KB/sec. It does not matter what kind of computer you have, how fast it is, or what kind of modem you have. If you are capped, it is impossible to go any higher then that.

Thanx for the info Banshee, so basically i cant do anything to speed it up.

(i heard theres a software called a uncapper is it true)

Call your provider see what your caps are. then try different settings in the tweak patches. Such as your rwin and so forth if you know how to edit the reg.But first back it up. Some times this help with getting a little more speed. But as for what was mentioned if you are capped. The most you can get to with tweaks is the cap. GoodLuck!

Uncapping is illegal, even if you do manage to uncap your modem, you will lose your service very fast because your cable provider can monitor your line.
