Everytime I try to download a file over 700mb in size it seems to stop at almost exactly 630mb(approx.). What I'm wondering is it my connection, which would be quite a coincidence because the d/l stops at the same size everytime. Is there a pre-set download size that I need to adjust in windows 98 SE or is there a setting in windows that says I have to have a certain amount of space left on my harddrive, if this is the case can I change this setting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx.
how big is your HD?
how much freespace do you have left?

After the d/l stops at 630mb I have 1.5 gig of free space left on my hard drive. Total hard drive capacity is only 4 gig.

Dose it tell you you don't have enough space? When it quits downloading. Because most downloads you don't keep the full amount you download, There are temp files they use which can be deleted after.I don't know of any settings in win98se for this reason. Really hard to say. You still have a gig and 1/2 left so you should be able to download. Not unless it is telling you youdon't have the space. Sounds more like your explorer is timeing out.May be Bug will know.

Not really. I don't know of away to. Do you use software for your provider. If so you might try uninstalling it then reinstalling it. This will sometime cause this problem. Thats if you are not receiveing a Message telling you you don't have the space. If not I would try the software first if that don't work. Try free up some space on the drive like programs your not useing. Or possibly runnning a scandisk or defrag might help to. Plus make sure you are not loaded down with temp files. Check your internet explorer's cache and the temp file under c:/windows. This is just a few things I can think of that might cause your problem. Other then that I am just as lost as you. Hopefully someone else might know the answer. If these tips don't help. GoodLuck!
