these are what i got on pcpitstops speed tests. i am supposedly capped at 512 kb/s.
i have also run some at dslreports.com and gotten higher than what i'm supposedly capped at. makes me wonder how accurate these things are...

Well what are your transfer rates when you download? try this: ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test8
Tell us your transfer rate, that's a true 8 meg file.

Wow, that site has a good connection. I averaged 600 KB on that one. Netstat live says that at least.

The only real true speed test would be one directly from the head-end, dslam, etc. of your internet provider. Downloading from other servers can yield congestion, and give you a reading that though it is real time internet speed, isnt reliable in telling you the speed your given via your ISP. With @home we have the perf test (netdiag) which tests your up and downstream directly from the headend.

You are not capped at 512... so shhhhh... don't let your ISP know about these speeds unless you want to download at 60 KB/Sec... LOL :D

Where can I download Netstat live? Searched download.com, yahoo, altavista, but nothing.

Very lucky.. instead of 512kbps, you're around 1Mbps, nearly twice as much. I wish Verizon made that mistake with me.. LOL.. well, just keep it on the down low, make sure you don't get any cable repairman coming to your home.. then, your fun will be over.. :( Good luck.. and remember.. you didn't know **** about how much faster it was.. say you thought it was supposed to be that fast and that you love their service at that price range.. LOL.. Later
