On my Win98SE desktop the Connection Speed slider always reverts back to 3000 Kbps under the following circumstances:
1) Set Connection Speed slider to 5000 Kbps
2) Use the Optimal Settings button to change parameters
3) Follow with the usual OK’s and reboot
I have a WinXP laptop on the same network using TCP Optimizer 2.0.2 and when I make the exact same changes it stays at 5000 Kbps. Is there a known bug with TCP Optimizer 2.0.2 & Win98SE, or is there some default setting in Win98SE that keeps forcing the Connection Speed slider back to 3000 Kbps upon reboot?
