I recently got verizons DSL 640kb and running on a P2 266 with 64mb of ram. I do realize I am in need of an upgrade, however I am getting wopping speeds of no higher than 60kbs. Shouldnt I be getting higher speeds?
I could really use some help and VERIZON doesnt want to give it to me
Thanks

Have you tried the appropriate SG reg patch (http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml) yet?

test
arythmic, that speed test site measures in kbps (kilobits per second), so your reading is very low. You should be getting around 544kbps. Try the speed test at www.dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com) and www.2wire.com (http://www.2wire.com) and see what you get. Those tests also show your speed in kbps. If you get low scores again, try the appropriate SG patch from the page I mentioned in my first post.

I ran a speed test at "PCPITSTOP" with a DSL cABLE 200kb test and got a Transmission Speed of 63 Kb/s that is very slow am I right?
Let me know what I should do PLEASE
thanks
Matt
55-60KB/sec is good for a 640kb/90kb plan. Remember, KB do not equal kb. If your speeds are 60KB, or 63KB, like you mentioned afterwards... then you are having optimal speeds.
