100 Full Duplex & DNS Client Service

1. I have a 10/100 3Comm NIC and Xtreme Shaw cable. I've done all the tweaks in this forum thanks to previous advice. Should I set this to 100 Full Duplex or leave it on Automatic?

2. I've turned off the XP DNS Client service just to get rid of overhead and everything appears to be working ok or at least the same. Should I keep this Windows service running or is it ok to have it turned off?

leave the service on the duplex force it to 100 or auto doesnt' matter.

1. So if I force it to 100, should it be full or half?
2 Naive question, but what does the DNS Client Service do if I don't notice a difference?
3. I've pretty much disabled every service that I think is related to the net except for DHCP, DCOM, Network Connections. I have a stande alone computer so most of the other services appear a drain on overhead. Are there any other services I should have turned on other than the DNS Client for optimum broadband performance?

Also, I should have mentioned I'm behind a linksys router.
