View Full Version : 12,000 Ft Too far???
i live in south florida and i was thinkin of getting dsl from telocity and i was wondering if 12,000ft from the CO[according to www.dslreports.com] (http://www.dslreports.com]) is too far to get good speeds, the speed i can get is 1.5mps/256kbps for $50/per month
Are you frickin' kidding?
Most people would kill and cut off their left nut for sppeds like that at a price like that. On a DSL broadband solution!!
Does this answer your question?
I'm 14000 ft and i get 1.5/256 from bellsouth
yeah so i guess ill have to order it and ward do u have a very good pc to get those speeds??
It's a pentium II 450, 128 megs of ram, ata66 hd's, abit motherboard.
To me its old and outdated.......thinking about a thunderbird and some pc133 ram

I'm 11,000 ft away from my c/o and when I had DSL I got my max, 1.5/128, all the time. JFYI, w/DSL you will only see about 85% of your max due to transmission overhead. Therefore, 1.5mbps down comes out to about 1.2mbps, which is what I got w/my 1.5mbps connection.
