I'm using the updated speedguide_98/me patch. I tried yours and things didn't work out for this computer or it's because of all the problems I'm having with the modem and lines. I'm holding off any further updates and patches til this "problem" is taken care of and all the router upgrading and the like are done in my area. Once this issue is resolved, then I'll go back on the quest for More Performance! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hey Rick,
I have tried them all and for my set-up:

AMD K6-2@500mhz
256 Meg Ram
ATT@Home 128 upload cap/no download cap
Win98SE

http://a.postmypic.com/a.nsf/Z/Capture-01-01-00001KTHH/$file/Capture-01-01-00001.png

I pinged out my MTU to 1456 without fragmentation for the 1496 value.

I have found my downloads stay in the 450 to 750 steady range with this Rwin.

No offence, but your patch seems to give a big burst at the begining of a download and then it slows down to the 200 range.

Someone needs to cap that guy! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif j/k

Actually I now use SpeedCorp's Speed v3. Before I was using your version 3, but I found that Speed v3 gets me better downloads, but a little lower uploads.

Here's a little comparison:

Cablenut V3
DSL Reports : (kbps)
2876/827
2205/797
2352/646

Telus : (mbps) - 5MEG test
1.809
1.880
2.772
1.361

Speed V3
DSL Reports : (kbps)
3052/486
3095/470
2978/491

Telus : (mbps) - 5MEG test
2.882
2.941
2.698
3.200

I used the Win2k Performance Enhancer from Speedcorp.net, but removed it b/c it drastically lowered my upload and pages wouldn't always open--I had to hit refresh a lot.

Yeah, I thought so too. Thought you might like to see those, especially since they were pretty consistent. All the tests were done within about 10 mins or so. The time it takes to swap the settings, reboot and run tests. Something YOU have done maybe, eh? http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif
