Just got my dsl connect from pacbell - dynamic ip, using Enternet 300 1.41

I can't connect if ZA's running. It's vsmon (I've tried 2.1.44 and and last 129 version). If I kill vsmon, I can connect fine. If I run vsmon and ZA after I've connected, I'll usually be okay, but that kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Vsmon needs to run early-on to include protection for/from the prgs that are started in the boot process.

I'm wondeirng is anyone else has this problem? Or even better, a solution

Someone said I might use RASPPPOE instead of Enternet, but I'm using win95B, which that prg apparently doesn't support.

Any ideas? Nex

Welcome to speedguide
You have a interesting one. In zone alarm if the settings for security are to high you can get problems and on DSL with PPPoE it really doesn't need to be real high.
Next in security go to the advanced settings Enternet will display the IP address's for DNS try putting these in the advanced end..
Or try setting the subnet mask in Zone Alarms advanced area as well...
I really have not seen this problem running both of these programs together at anytime.
Iv ran them for awhile.
Ok the RASPPPoE thing you really don't need to do it and if you don't have to I wouldn't.
But if you really feel the need to do so make sure in the Adapter you lower the MaxFrameSize for it to no higher than 1486 the reason is that your ISP is set to either 1486 or 1454 been messin with the different settings for a while..
I hope this helped

Glad you got it fixed...
now if I could just track this stuff without using my note pad it would be even better.
Just wishful thinking for the new version of the BBS ware to come out.

Thank you. Your reply set me to playing around in the securityy section of ZA and finally, after much fiddling, it works!

This sure is a great place, but of course I'm biased now. (cough) Nex
