Does anyone know what the RAS option on the new Linksys router firmware does? It doesn't seem to effect my ability to connect.
There are two options for "RAS Plan"
256K Ethernet
512K Ethernet

Hi Luminosity. I'm going to assume that the RAS option allows you to connect to your computer remotely, enabling your router to serve as a Remote Access Server. I've downloaded the new firmware but haven't installed it yet.
The linky help tells you this:
The Alcatel Remote Access Service(RAS) is a profitable access technology developed by Alcatel. SingTel Magix uses Alcatel RAS as the main method to authenticate with their ADSL servers.
Appears to be proprietary service only- lots at their site.
