Alright, my issue is this:
Previously, I had some model of Motorola Cable modem from Comcast. Well, I dropped the service and someone else in my house picked it up because the bills were getting to me.
I never had any issues with packets running through the motorola. I use a Linksys router for the 3 PCs in my house. I had to manually configure the Linksys to allow the packets in on certain ports. Then I set the program to run through those ports and I never encountered a connection issue.
After getting this new modem, I can't seem to connect at all. In any way. The settings on the router never changed. I even went into the Linksys and reset them to different ports, just in case. Still nothing.
If anyone has any insight into the firmware protocols on the RCA DCM 325, I'd apreciate any help I get. Even if I have to reconfigure my Linksys and the program to do it, I'll be fine with that. I'm hoping the RCA has some default ports you can access or something. Although I probably won't get lucky and I'll have to get Comcast to set things up for me. Unless there is some Firmware update I can install for it.
I ramble sometimes. Any info on the allowed ports for TCP and UDP packets. Feel free to add your $.02. Thanks...
