:)I have a existing netgear router and I want to run a netgear wireless WGR614 router off that. I thought all I'd have to do is run a cable from port 4 of the existing router to one of the ports of the wireless router. It's not working. Can someone tell me why, and the solution to fix?

Disable DHCP on the wireless (second) router
Change the LAN IP address of the second router...it cannot be the same as the LAN IP address of the first router. Say the primary router is 192.168.0.1, make the LAN IP of the wireless second router 192.168.0.2

Link the two using from LAN port to LAN port...not WAN port.

Now you're really just using that wireless second router as simply a wireless access point...which is what you wanted in the first place.

I don't know why I didn't suggest this in the first place...but why not "replace" your old original Netgear router with the WGR614.

Yes with wireless routers you can use both wireless, and wired, at the same time. Most of them still have the 4x 10/100 LAN ports.
