View Full Version : Finding your @HOME Cable Modem Mac address
I know it would be considered hacking .... but if u could find out anything about your @HOME modem's there are ways to increase your speed, legally and illegial(that word is not liked on this board) :cool:
IS there anyway to find that out ?

You can find out your cable modem's MAC address anytime you want, the directions are at the bottom of this message. Don't know why anyone would consider it hacking.
The idea that anyone is going to hack a DOCSIS cable modem is wishful thinking.
Open a DOS window and ping your default gateway. Then, type:
ARP -a
The MAC address that shows is that of your cable modem, Lan side. The WAN MAC differs by one. Pretty much useless information.

you can look on the back of the modem too and get the mac but you cannot beat the cap sorry

knowing the MAC address won't help one bit, heh
