Hey,
My flatmate and I have just installed Netgear WGR614 802.11g/b WiFi Wireless Router, as recommended by my ISP (Blueyonder) and my laptop is acting up. I have an IBM T42 Thinkpad and am running XP Pro. Having had no problems with previous wireless systems, a scary blue screen now occasionally appears without warning with several lines of white text and my laptop restarts itself. It apears so briefly that I can't really comprehend what it says. The screen *usually* appears when I try to update Ad Aware but having uninstalled Ad Aware, the problem still pops up, albeit much less frequently. My flatmate has a Dell laptop and has not experienced any problems. My dad (who I ran to in my infinite computer illiteracy) seems to think it might have something to do with a conflict between Windows and IBM wireless software, as a result of our new wireless router.

Someone please help! I will be eternally grateful!

Right Click "My Computer", select properties.

Go to the "Advanced" tab and choose "Startup & Recovery Settings".

Uncheck the box that says "Automatically restart" under the system failure section.

This should make the error stay on the screen so you can write it down.

Then post the error here.

Hi Koldchillah,

I think I sorted out the problem; seems it was out of date wireless software, which I've updated and no probs so far. Thanks anyway for taking the time to reply!
