Dogfights on BF2

I've never had such a shouting/fist flayling/growling episode as I do when dogfighting and either a) having a lock on someone and the missles miss for no reason b) cant get the fool off me arse c) flares havent reloaded yet d) stupid guy does the up and roll. *beats face on keyboard* At least I drop alotta people before I get nailed :) I think im pretty good at it.

Flying jets with the keyboard is really hard, im decent with the helos though.

Ive gotten it down with the keyboard and mouse, though pulling the up and roll is hard without a very long table hahaha, gotta really move that mouse.

Yeah...that's all I've ever used as for flying choppers and jets. But basically I use my keyboard cause my joystick is just way too sensative. Just dont like the feel of it in the battlefield series.

I love when you have a lock on a jet right in front of you and you shoot your missle the missle gets two feet away from there jet and the missle does a u turn and blows up a freindly hele. The same crap with the MAA and the AA turrents. :mad: :irate: :confused:

I had this one guy in a Cobra who was hovering, I came around and locked on, fired two missles and he didnt throw any flares or move, and they both missed. Yes, by that point I promptly flipped a U and proceeded to throw two more, freakin went right by him even with a lock on, no flare no movement, WTF?!?! I wasted him with the cannon on the next fly by :D

:rotfl: sometimes I have to eject just cuz my mouse hand gets tired, I try to get as high as possible so I have time to rest while floating back down haha.

I've not played yet but are the missles in the game heat seeking or laser guided?

If your target kills his heat output and a friendly punches his throttle nearby.. he just became a bigger target and the missle doesn't have a FoF controller system im sure.. if he is far enough away a good pilot can shake a missle too so a lock is never a guarantee.. you want to use guns to place, go hot on missles, lock and fire quickly then switch to guns to make sure he stays put..

Its got both laser guided and heat seeking, the heat seekers are more and more innaccurate these days though its starting to really annoy me, especially when it ends up losing lock on your target and blowing up your friendly and they punish you.

I would assume the heat seakers while may be harder to use, are more powerful.. or are lasers just as powerful???

Gotta get this game.. cannot find anyplace that has the DVD version and I dont wanna spend all day installing from Cds..

I got my DVD version at the local Target, they had a ton of em too. Course this was back when it first came out.

hmm i'll check them out one my way home today..
maybe i'll get lucky and find it there.. just hate shoppin at stores like target and walmart.. those family friendly type stores like to get those edited versions of some games and make you think its the real deal..

oh and to the original topic, i am ok with the choppers, but i get totally owned in a jet, i never seem to be able to get the other pilots in front of me.

maybe i wil try useing my mouse instead of a joystick.
