List of MMOs and PVP Side notes that I've played

EQ - took 3 years of my life.. can i get that back? Very Addictive - Decent PVP

EQ2 - Teasing me but i'd go back to EQ1 before i go back to it.. - Huh PVP?!?
(Expansion adding it)

WoW - Fun, good charm but loses thrill after a while.. PVP only thing that adds to it.. but you gotta be a high lvl to really enjoy it..

Gunz - New in open Beta.. Really good idea. but Losing charm fast with all the cheap combos that even a newb can spam, but shows promise...

AO - Interesting, didn't get to much into it.. its free again so im gonna try it some more.. will update after i do..

FFXI - Good MMORPG - NO PVP and no plans to add..

Eve online - Very interesting game.. once you've established a decent cash flow.. you can become a rather nasty pirate and expand your cash flow futher.. or Be a bounty hunter and go from there...

Over the years I've beta tested tons of MMOs.. only a few have had some potental to have good PVP... Planetside was one that I thought would be great.. but never got to far unfortunatly..

Still Play FFXI (shiva Server) and Eve-Online(tranquillity)

EQ2 was my frist MMO after , old RPG like Dibalo 2 etc ...

EQ@ is absolutely beautiful world with some interesting adventures ... IT requires a BEEFY system to really ge tthe beauty out of it. But I left that at level 28 to venture to PVP ( 1st person shooter background ) in WOW. I LOVED wow , for about 100 lvls ( 30 days play time = 720 hours of wow in 6 months = 17% of my real life ) ... ( 60 on a Rogue and 40 on a Druid ) , But in the end game it loses it's flavor , not enough PVP action anymroe with the invent of Battlegrounds , No real sense of accomplishment for the most part .... I wanted to bad to get into a PVP guild that their sole purpose was to PVP , but my limited playtime , restricted me from the ability to get into a premier one other than the premier Casual one . The New basin look sintesting but they need to establish more of a sense of accomplishment and rewards for a single encounter. Pehaps make towns that are capturable for a small time and allow for a reward for catpuring it for a length of time ... This would envoke the defensive teams to comeout and attempt to get rewards by defending and recapturing towns ( very similar to BF 2 Flag capture ) ....

I have since left Wow and returned to EQ2 but without the addiction phase ... Now I play to play and not to live in my own online world. Now I have a better balance and mainly only play when my grieldfriend and I want to Duo at my place. Otherwise it's BF2 or real life stuff.

that seems to be the BEST pvp design is in shooters where there does not require such an intense balancing act of PVE AND PVP at the same time. Everyone gets the same basic choices and it's their skill level that determines their power .... Not some Noob (OMGNERFSHAMAN) Shaman that tanbks like a pally , HEals like a druid and Hits liek a Rogue ....

you hit it on the head myrtflyguy

MMORPG IMO was never designed for PVP, becuase of the imbalance issues it cuases especially around PVE

IMO if you really enjoy PVP...your better off getting Quake3, HL2, or Quake 4 when it comes out or soemthing along those lines of FPS

Aggreed Ghost, But it kinda leaves it open to an untapped market..

I think Lineage and DAoC are the few that really have a very well set up PVP setup from what i've heard from my friends that play those..

There is also the MMO Shooters that i mentioned.. Gunz and Planetside.. both are doing fairly well.. not a massive fan base but Gunz is new and planetside is stable..

Ultima Online and EQ, but UO was far superior until they nerfed it.

Guess who you can thank for nerfing UO? That right EA...

I hate EA with a passion and will never waste my money on any of their games.

only MMO i have played is Star Wars: Galaxies. i still play it, actually. very addicting (and can be equally frustrating at times), but the time involved to really get somewhere can be immense...... and sometimes i like to be able to fire it up and get busy (FPS games).

Just started playing City of Heroes...

VERY addictive game and quite fun.. only PVP in the arena though..
tons of ways to make your character look unique.. you'll only copy another char is powers but i've never seen someone have the same costume as me in that game.
