I'm using Road Runner into a WRT54G router, running a wired desktop and a wireless laptop. I just upgraded from the Linksys BEFW11S4. I have no reason to complain about speed. I use various speed tests and it runs anywhere from 4600 to 4880 down.
Here's my question: since installing the Linksys G I'm getting consistent results from all speed tests. In other words, repeated tests from the same site yield the same exact result. Does this mean that something in my setup is limiting the bandwidth, or would it indicate a limiting factor somewhere close in the route? Or, since the theoretical RR max is 5000, am I hitting their brick wall?
