Wireless is cool, you'll like it a lot. Be aware that most wireless technologies (LMDS, MMDS) will have their range limited by fog and other environmental factors. Make sure you ask about the effect of fog, snow, etc. Other than that, enjoy! Let us know how the latency is, compared to xDSL.

Remember it is stated like all other broadband providers

• Download speeds up to 3.0 MbpS

That UP TO is the key word. Is there any guaranteed minimum speed?

Well I thinks it'll be better than the Cable I have now, stupid thing rarely makes it over 500Kbps http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif

That doesn't sound all that great. Here on our cable modem service I can D/L a test file from the server and get a consistant 460K (410K to 530K) and I can do ICQ transfers at 86K. All for 29.99 if you own your modem.

A lot of the DSL info is misleading with the general public not knowing the difference between kilobits and kiloBYTES. My .02

This isn't DSL we're talking about, its Wireless Internet that can do 3 mega bits per second http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

I have to pay $50 a month (canadian dollars) for the slow cable service I get (they charge me an extra $10 cause I don't use their TV cable service). For $39.95/month, the Wireless deal is a lot better http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

The upload speed is only 200kbits.

Maybe speedy plans to use this as a backup for the OC-12?
