I am going to test your new patch. I reformatted my computer and installed WindowsMe. I have @Home Cable in Eugene and I have done no regediting since I reformatted. I went and got AnalogX NetStat Live and I set this to record in bits (not bytes). I went to www.download.com (http://www.download.com) and downloaded Deus Ex (145MB). My average incoming rate was 3299.7Kbps and my max incoming rate was 4876.9Kbps. This, at least compared to what everyone has been talking about, is almost 2000Kbps faster than the fastest speed you have gotten. Now I just installed your beta patch and rebooted. Now I am downloading the same file (Deus Ex) from www.download.com. (http://www.download.com.) My average incoming rate now is 1650.9Kbps and my max incoming rate is 2348.7Kbps. So it would seem, at least for me, that the download rates are faster without any tweaks.
Please give me your views on this and I can get you any info you need.

Which one did you use theres mine built just for xDSL PPPoE and the one from Cablenut thats ment for Cable
If you used the one meant for DSL then the readings will be slower
Also I noticed that some of the connections may report being slower but the actual time to D/L is faster and you need to time it also
One other note: try it without the RoutingBufSize & RoutinPackets

I strongly suggest that you use cable nuts patch for Cable

You sound a lot like killing-angel, Nagrom, are you and him one and the same? Anyway I will reiterate what I said in my topic:

Killing Angel, I dunno when you revert back to defaults it will revert back to windows defaults... from my personal expierence, and others here on the board the windows default settings are not even close to being optimized for a large bandwith medium like cable or xdsl.

What was your CPU utilization at the time you were experiencing high DL rates? The is a bug in NetStat Live (under Win 2000) that reports inflated transfer rates when the CPU utilization is high. I haven't check for the bug on the other Windows versions.

I used the patch for cable. I don't know if the settings are optimized for cable or not. All I know is that these are the fastest download rates I have seen post anywhere for a CM or xDSL connection. My CPU usage was around 9 - 15% and no, it took longer to download the second time.

fastest eh? 4876.9Kbps is 609KB (im sure you didn't get this sustained because analog x said it was the max incoming rate)

I've gotten 600KB+ on the verizon speedtest just 3 nights ago. this was at 3am in the morning

Your average incoming rate was 412KB/sec. From my testing which again is from the verizon 50meg text file speedtest. I would let the whole file download and ie would tell me the average d/l rate. Here is what I get for average d/l speeds:

Test#1 417KB
Test#2 435KB
Test#3 428KB

So your claim of the fastest' cm you've seen anywhere isn't really true.

That's fine. I am glad to finally see someone with faster! What are your reg settings or have you altered them? You must admit though a difference of 10KB per sec is not that huge. Why are we getting rates so much faster than the others? BTW how was the movie you were downloading in the picture?

Hey!
I just went to the MSN speedtest site and did four tests.

Test 1 - 412K Bytes
Test 2 - 837K Bytes
Test 3 - 566K Bytes
Test 4 - 454K Byyes

I then went to the Mindspring Speedtest and tested there four times.

Test 1 - 450K Bytes
Test 2 - 190K Bytes
Test 3 - 241K Bytes
Test 4 - 340K Bytes

Obviously a lot depends on the site. You can go one place to download a file and get 100KB per sec and try the same file at another site and get 500KB per sec!
