I've been getting several early termination errors with cores 78 & 79. They've occurred on two machines in particular, one overclocked and one at stock speed. Both machines were doing nothing else but Folding.

Anyone else been getting these errors lately or is it just me?

on my overclocked xp2400 i had to lower the FSB by 1 Mhz a few weeks ago because i was getting that, not sure what cores they were though.

not sure if it was the cores or the overclock but it has been fine since.

which projects? Sometimes that is what is supposed to happen when the fold is unsuccessful.

Well, I didn't know that, thanks. :)

When was the last time you ran memtest on the ram?

I had to send a couple of sets back a few weeks or so ago because of an intermittent bit being dropped.

But what are the chances of bad RAM appearing at the same time in two different computers? The chances of it happening at all are slim. Figure two at the same time...

Thanks for the suggestion though, I will keep that in the back of my mind as I monitor these two.

Not every unit is supposed to be 100% successful. You will have them where they can only go so far and then they terminate. Its not uncommon. You will see it happen a lot on Beta or newly released projects quite a bit.

It sure would be nice for them to be able to make some sort of distinction between a project that can no longer continue because of valie results from the program versus the program not running correctly due to instability.

I know, it's a fine line and I'm not sure it's even possible.

The errors are not consistent, which supports your suggestion.
