disconnects intermittently

Router: 2Wire homeportal
ISP: SBC DSL
Op System: WXP

I've had SBC with the 2wire homeportal system for over a year. I've never had any problems...until now.

My connection drops and then picks up after a few minutes...and continues to do the same thing over and over again.

I checked with tech support at SBC who said that everything looked fine on their end.

I ran my McAfee Virus scan...and found nothing.

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be? HELP!!!! :mad:

Try calling while the DSL is down. Intermittent problems can be hard to sort out. I think it is on their end.

You might try a release and renew using winipcfp (Start > Run> type> winipcgf [enter]). Another thing you might try is unpluging the modem for 30 seconds then plug it in again. Sometimes that works.
