Hello,

I went out and got me a shiny new Dlink DI-624M router and notebook card today. As any techie would do I went and d/l and flashed the newest firmware for the router (v12.0) as I was at v1.01 and my router froze. Ok, waited a bit to be sure it was frozen and power cycled...nothing...grrr. Did a crash recovery and attempted the upload again...nada. After a couple more tries a much dreaded call to tech support was put in. They said that v1.20 was not working for most people and not to use it...no kidding. When asked if they could email me an older version of the firmware so I could get the router working again they said they couldn't. Stupid DLink...can't get their hardware to work before they release it...and yes I have used a lot of DLink products and most have issues.

Anyways, DO NOT USE v1.20 from their website. They said they could not take it down and there are no warnings on their site. It may work for you but tech support said that it usually breaks the routers more often than not.

As a side note, if someone could save out a copy of either a v1.20 that worked for them, or email me an older version of the firmware (any version even 1.01 at this point) I would really be grateful.

Thanks,

Rick
