You do have a firewall (which is a good thing), your router. NAT...Network Address Translation. The router takes your public IP address, routes it to a private class C network (192.168.1.XXX)...if you run ipconfig on your computer you'll see a 192.168.1.<something> address.
I haven't used those peer to peer downloading programs in a loooong time, when I did, I only used WinMX (because it's a clean program, does not infect your computer with ad/spy/malware/trojans like Kazaa and most others do) But WinMX had to be setup in its configuration so that it functioned behind NAT, and everything worked fine. I'd imagine that Kazaa trojan needs some sort of configuration too.

I don't know how to kill the firewall - probably need to find the setting to disable NAT.
Realize that you will need to purchase ip addresses for each of your 4 machines once you disable NAT - can't have it both ways...

you don't want to shut down the router's NAT, I didn't even know you could do that....but you want to just specify what ports are used for whatever program you need it to be used for...
Look on page 18 of the user guide that TonyT posted
You want the web interface, once you access that, goto the Toolbox, then Game and Application Sharing....from there I'm sure you can setup whatever ports and everything so you can get your programs to work....
