BF2 -- Joystick setup

All,

I want to start to use a joystick, when flying. Not that I can fly without one. ;)

What is the way to configure it, for the chopper and/or plane?

Accelerate = forward? twist = ? left = ? and so on...

Please share what you use, I am not sure what type of JS I have.

Setting up the joystick in BF2 is a pain, it's a buggy interface. UOD filled me in on the skinny.

First, go into heli and aircraft, clear all the control fields your joystick will use by doing "Esc" in each one...then apply. Now, go in from the bottom up
Roll left...tilt your joystick to the left (ailerons)
Turn left, twist your joystick to the left (rudder)
Pitch forward, push your joystick forward (elevator)
Throttle..slide your slider forward.

For accelerate/declerate I use the throttle control

For turning left/right, the twist axis (just twist the handle if yours does this)

For rolling left/right, I push the stick left/right

For pitch forward/back, I push the stick forward back

Don't forget to assign the firing buttons to your liking.
