Just curious in what you have enabled/disabled and do you leave it running while gaming? Doe sit use more resources than Norton 7.6 corporate? Seems a tad bit on the high side to me. With no av installed I can get my initial resource usage down to 125MB....with it installed, goes up to 157MB.

TIA

I leave mine running, it only consumes about 19 megs total...but the key is not to measure performance hit purely by looking at RAM usage, you also want to consider CPU utilization and file sniffing of real time protection..both of which are incredibly low.

Looking at my IBM Stinkpad right now, the nod32krn.exe is only using 16,304K.

I leave at default install, however if you want to peek at a setup guide for cranking up settings,

Thanks...so I guess you do leave it running while gaming right? When I set this thing up last night, I went with custom install so I could see what was what. Don't know of that was a good idea or bad idea. Pretty much everything is enabled and don't know if I need all that level of protection. I wonder what the difference is between custom and default installs?

Works really well although I did have to pick a fast server by testing each one. Crap, one was giving me only 12KB a sec for download....found one that gives me 300+KB so I set it to that one.

any issues I should be aware of that I might want to disable or enable?

Yeah since going with NOD32 I've had no issues leaving it enabled. Prior to this, at home, I ran Symantec Corp Edition, I think the latest at home I ran was 8.1. You were using 7.6..wow, you don't want to use that old version anyways...very outdated engine.

Default or custom install, having all the modules enabled is fine, Threatsense is good to enable. For the autoupdates, you can leave it to "Choose Automatically"...it will cycle through the server list if the first on the list isn't responding.
