My ports are not workingggg

if i try to do the emule tcp-udp test - it fails...if it try to do the bittorent 6881-6889 ports test it fails. when i try to put the port here:

its say that there is a problem..
i dont know whatr to do - i dont have any viruses or spybots and my windows is 2 days old...i tried to do this when my xp's firewall was off and it didnt work..how can i make the ports work? :cry:

are you using a router or other firewall besides Microsofts?

I would disable the MS firewall completely, and use ZoneAlarm or Sygate. If you do have a router then I would use the router in place of a software firewall.

I have a router, and by default is uses NAT for security, so I had to get in and change the ports needed for Emule to work. You will have to do the same thing if you have a router.

If you don't have a router or firewall, then you are open to the internet, and should have no problems connecting, but then this would be horrible for security reasons.

but the Emule homepage has some good guides on how to configure your router to work.
