is my file/print sharing secure

setup:
2 comps connected with wires to wrt54g router (linksys)
router is connected to cable modem

i have run network wizard and set both to say that they connect directy to the internet through a hub and other comps connect through the hub also

i have enable file and print sharing so i can access the printer from both comps and certain files...like updates and software installs and etc

anyway my question is are the things that i am sharing visible to the internet or are they hidden by the router......i didn't know if enableing file/print sharing would change how visible my computer is

They are hidden by the router.

As long as you are behind a NAT device (in your case, the router), then nobody from the outside world is going to see whats going on behind your router unless you specifically open up certain ports for inbound traffic. By default, the router allows anything outbound, but nothing inbound (again, unless you have ports forwarded to your internal network).
