i just put together a new system
in the last 3 days my cable modem has reset itself while pluged into this new system
it has done it 8 times in one hour
i swithed it to a diff pc and it didnt do it once in a 2 hour time period
does any now if there is something in my new system that might becausing my external cable mode to reset itself
i have a surfboard 2100 modem
linksys 10/100 nic card
kt7 raid mobo
duron 750@950 cpu
is it possible there are some settings in bios or windows that would cause my modem to reset like that?
or could it have just been coinsidence that it happend so many times while i had it hooked up to this system?
also my web browser loads pages twice as slow as my older system wich was only a 500 k6
my wifes 500 celeron even surfs faster than mine
any one have an idea as to what could be happening to make my cable modem reset and my browser to load pages so slow?

Hve you tried updateing your nics drivers? Plus there is a possiblilty the nic is going in on the wrong IRQ. Try pulling it out. After uninstalling it from windows. Switch it to a different slot and see if that helps after reinstalling its software.
Hope this helps.

ive tried that several times since my nic was sharing a irq with my sound card or my video card
right now it has its own irq wich is 11
and i do have the most upto date drivers for my nic
and i still cant figure out why my browser is so slow
