ok in a forum i hang at,they were talking about using a network bridge to combine more than 1 dsl line.

what i got out of it is maybe this is possible and if so what does a person need and approximate cost.

ok i have comcast cable 6mb/768kbps,nothing faster is available besides t-1 which the cheapest is $485 for 1.5mb up.

they were saying i could buy an extra comcast line and combine my 2 cable lines/speed into 1 network bridge and get out of the deal 12mb/1.5mb up.
if so that would only cost me roughly $130 a month versus $485 for t-1 ,,hmm doesnt take a rocket scientist to fiigure that out if its posssible.

can this be done?
thanks for any direction
edit:
i guess i should of put this in the networking section, sorry for that.

One way of doing this, would be to get dual WAN port router. Symantec makes a few models, and Linksys/Cisco has a new line of routers, their RV0 series, which I've recently played with and absolutely love. (200 - 400 bucks depending on the model) You can take 2x DSL lines, or 2x cable lines, or 2x fract T's, or any combination of the above...like 1x DSL and 1x cable.

However....the common belief people have which is not true...is that they will double their bandwidth. :nope: 2x 6 meg pipes will not equal 1x 12 meg pipe. What happens, is they "load balance". LAN traffic is directed to the WAN port with the most headroom, or least traffic. Also you'll get failover redundancy. The advantage here is really for networks...not for a single user.
