This is somewhat complicated. I've been searching for days for an answer and I'm unable to find anything, so I'm hoping maybe you all can help me out.
I'm having trouble uploading files over the net. I have just had cable installed a few days ago again. It was off for about a month. I load up Frontpage and start to upload files for a website I am working on. The html files that are 1kb in size are uploaded with no problem. My attempts to upload a flash file and a jpeg file were unsuccessful. It sits for a while and then says "the server unexpectedly closed the connection." Thinking its frontpage just not working right maybe, i try to use an ftp program to upload them. the flash file reaches 36% of transfer then freezes and will not upload anymore. 32768 of 90546 bytes transferred.
(this is somewhat long winded, but I want to give as much detail as possible and give the reasons to support my theory, sorry hehe) the jpeg reaches 20% at 16384 of 81211 bytes transfered and then freezes. I don't think that this is related to the size of the file allowed to be uploaded, as it reaches different amounts. I then try to attach the jpeg to an email to send to myself and get it on another computer in my home, I can't attach it. uploading to my geocities site that I use for random storage works fine, through the http upload they use. I have tried to upload these files on 2 other computers in my home, on one it does the same thing. The two computers it won't work on are using the same ip, and a router, the third computer with its own ip, and only connected to a modem, it will work on. no problems at all. So my thoughts are that its the router, if it is working on the third computer. Before the cable was shut off for a month, we were using a different router, and have to use this one know as its the only way we see to get the second ip on the computers on this side of the house. Uploading worked fine before the router switch. It is a wireless router, D-Link Di-614+ I checked the MTU as that is the only solution I've come across for my problem in my searching , and it is at 1500. I'm all out of ideas, looked at every page from my many different searches about uploading, frontpage errors, and my modem, etc. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
*edit* forgot to add that the router was used with the 3rd computer before this and had no problems uploading. is there some setting I'm missing thats vital? ><
