DSL loses sync when I pick up phone

I am not sure if it is my inside wiring or BellSouth's problem. Everytime I pick up the phone, the modem loses sync and disconnects. I have the filters installed on all my jacks except for the modem jack, and I have the line switcher connected to the modem. I have also tried different filters. After about 30 sec., even if someone is still on the phone, the modem will re-sync and I will reconnect. But it will lose sync again when they hang up. If anyone has had a similar experience with this, please post below because it is getting really annoying.

BTW- This is ADSL (PPPoA).

My g/f had similar problem, although it was even worth. Everytime somebody would talk on the phone and then hang up, it would reboot her pc. Horrible. We had to get a technician come over, and what she did was, she put a splitter on the phone jack where her telephone and dsl we hooked up to. She has a usb modem.
