I just got off the phone with tech support for the umpteenth time in the last three months. They said as of today, the router that has been giving us the slow downs has been fixed.
I am at work right now, and cannot see how my speeds are. So how is everyones speed doing today?
Before the router issue I could get an average time of 12ms pinging yahoo... At times it has gotten as bad as 850ms http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/frown.gif
hmmm interesting I will monitor this, this is a up to date ping to router 3.10 pm
Minimum = 82ms, Maximum = 96ms, Average = 92ms

Same here. Last night my pings were a little lower than usual, they were 500-600ms at 9:00pm. Lately my pings at this time have been 700-1000ms at this time. Wonderful smoke blowin bull crap.
Here is the latest from the swines talked to tech today after 5 mins of bs I finally got through to him that I was just calling to get an update he was trying to fix it on my end lol then I gave him the NOC outage # 00041522 which you all should use.
They are looking into purchaseing more cable to provide more BWidth I didnt waste time asking how long this would take but from our experiences this could be a very long time?
hang in there lads just a rough guess I would have to say sometime next year if you are lucky and I do mean LUCKY they are selling the service out here like hot cakes they dont care if the new installs have a problem as long as the sell the crap good luck men

Damn it Grim. I didn't wanna hear that http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
I envy you, moving to a place where you don't have to deal with this crap. I wish I could just get DSL, but its not available in my area http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/frown.gif I don't think that there was ever anything wrong with that router. They ran out of bandtwidth to that router, exactly like you stated. I wonder what they are running to that router right now T-3? HAHAHAHAHA! All of Sac hooked into a router through a T-3 line. Wouldn't that be funny.
More than funny thats prolly the way it is
the sad part I was BWidth deprived for so long allways calling Pac Bell and their false promises tried ISDN which wasnt that bad for QIII and pings it was allways stable
gave DIRECPC a shot was good for dloading sucked for gameing then Not@home came along and finally I thought! first 3 weeks were splendid then they fell apart and here we are now suspended in animation

Grim,
Did they credit you the full amount for all of this time that you have been having problems? I am on the phone with them right now waiting to talk with a Supervisor because the tech told me they could only credit me half, which is complete BS I can get a 56K connection for free. Why am I paying $20 for 56k cable modem? If you read this soon maybe I can get an answer before they pick up (I am on hold)

just for the laugh
Excite@Home provides end-to-end network management through the NOC. Acting as "mission control," the NOC uses proprietary network management tools and systems to monitor the network 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week; identify and resolve potential issues before they affect the network; and manage performance along the entire path from the content provider to the home computer. From the centralized NOC, @Home can manage multiple Super Node locations, local caching servers, and other network infrastructure. @Home's carefully designed, consistent system configuration and management also enable the NOC to provide a high level of overall system security and reliability.
Then, why didn't they know about this problem 6 weeks ago when it started happening?

Well,
After an 85 minute phone call, I got the supervisor to credit me for 3 weeks of October. They would only credit me from the day I started the ticket with their tech support. He tried calling local dispatch to find out what they had to say about the router in question but couldn't get through to local dispatch. I am somewhat satisfied.
