This is my first post here, I hope I am posting it in the right place.
I did the security check at this site and I was told that port 1836/UDP was open. I don't know how to close it, can anyone guide me?
I have disabled MSN Messenger.
I have a USR broadband router USR999106 and have a small peer to peer office network, all sharing this router. My ISP limits my downloads/uploads to 2GB per month. I noticed my monthly bill was coming double. I check my online detailed billing and find that my monthly downloads are around 400mb but my uploads are close to 3GB/month! We do not upload that much, max 10mb a month. I thought it maybe a virus, so I got Norton 2005 and also Norton Security, reformated the computers and installed anti-spyware etc. I then checked my bill and I am still getting close to 100mb uploads a day!
I have asked everyone I know, even the router vendor, my ISP. No one seems to know why this is happening.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I would really appreciate it.
