I just got fixed up with a nice cable modem. I heard that i should come here and regedit.com to look for some tweaks for it, and I downloaded some patches and looked around here on the boards for some tips, and I'm quite happy with what I got going. I heard about that speed411.com site, and decided to go and check it out..
I started off with average of like, 800 or so..I did some tweaking on my own, and got crap, like 300..So I then downloaded the patches, and changed maxmtu to 1472 I believe it was, and fixed the recvwindow line or whatever it was in the registry to some weird number that someone reccomended in a post here, and I got a highest speed of a sweet 4971!!! I never ever drop below 1200 now, and I clicked this tester about 15 times in a row and never fell below 3000.
