i recieved a kingston nic when i got cable installed, but it locked up my system when winblowz tryed to install it. So i was forced to take a 3 com usb network adapter. It gets good speeds but i was wondering if an internal nic would gimmi better speeds or maybe better ping times in games. I already had a diamond from when i bought my comp. i tryed to use that but it wouldnt work.. it installed ok and the lights came on but i couldnt get it to work.. so i bought a link sys nc100 nic.. i tryed that and it does the same as the diamond. is there like a setting im missing or something??? I plug the network cable into the internal and there is no connection.. but i can plug the cable into the usb adapter and away i go. whats goin on?? . by the way, theres no conflicts with any other hardware :) Should i just stick with the usb network adapter?? or try to get the link sys to work? and HOW dso i get the link sys to work! thanx

when you say 300-400 do you mean kilobits or KiloBYTES...if you are talking KILOBYTES I there is definately not a lack of speed.

Yeah, there is a big difference between bits and bytes: http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/bandwidth.shtml
