Hey everytime im running multiple programs - i have a crash

I have a P4 with 512 ram - everything works great right after a reboot but after several hours - the system slows down until it eventually becomes unresponsive (except for the mouse which for some reason always seems to move when i say so).

Anyways here is what the EVENT VIEWER has to say - if anyone can identify my problems - id be very much indebited if youd help me resolve them .

Thanks. Ive also attached a DR watson log if that helps.

System errors in Event viewer

EVENT # 7000 & 7001 (THESE ONES REPEAT A LOT)

Source: Service Control Manage

1) The NTPort Library Driver service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.

2) The AMON service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.

*this doesnt make sense, AMON is part of NOD32 virus scanner - ive uninstalled and deleted almost all remnants of this progam from my computer.* Except for one .dll file which wont delete

3) The Sentinel service depends on the Parallel port driver service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Errors 7000 & 7001 repeat frequently.

The system doesnt reboot or show a blue screen, rather it freezes itself with an immediate and unexpected surge in Processer and Ram (both reach thier peaks, overload and go into a state of over usage or freeze). I can move the mouse, but everything on the desktop becomes nonresponsive, cpu reaches 100%, the shell collapses (sometimes it automaticlly restatrs itself). a rebooot sets everything back to normal until another immiment future crash (usually when im multitasking).

here is just a couple of the latest crash logs from dr watson - i have dr watson in my startup folder and its always running to check to see what goes wrong

A couple of things.....
Do you have all your windows updates?
Have you scanned and cleaned your machine of ad/spy/malware? With tools such as the latest Adaware, Spybot search and destroy, Microsoft antispyware, etc? Latest versions, fully updated, scans run.
Has NOD32 been installed for quite some time? Or just recently, to a possibly infected machine? It's my favorite antivirus program.

Sentinal, you have an LPT key to run some CAD software or some other higher end package such as some estimating software?

Set up your computer to do a memory dump, then d/l & install the MS Debugger & Symbols. Sometimes you can trace the offending memory address that way or at least have it point you in a more specific direction.

That is, AFTER you do what YoSC suggests, above.

my comp is clean and updated

- i installed NOD a year ago and uninstalled a few months ago (everything is wiped from my system except the imon.dll in my system32 folder). This little file wont delete and renaming it causes havoc with my DC++

-I dont have any CAD software though i have several hi end video editing programs installed likke AVID (what am i supposed to do to get rid of the error)?

-What is a memory dump and how can i perform one my xp pro system?

-Were u guys able to read and understand my errors?

Without going super-technical, I'm thinking that if you start out alright after a reboot, but then it starts to slow down and finally crash, then you are running out of system resources. Programs that "leak" memory can cause this (I.E. is famous for this), along with spyware/adware/trojans. Here's the first thing I would try -- some basic maintenance stuff:

-- Delete all temp files (c:\windows\temp\*.tmp or similar)

-- Delete temporary internet files (c:\windows\temporary internet files\*.* or similar)

-- If you use I.E., click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files, select "delete all off-line content", click OK

-- Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools, Disk Cleanup

-- Download AdAware (http://www.lavasoft.de), check for updates, run it and remove whatever it finds

-- Download Diskeeper (http://www.executive.com) and defrag

-- Download, update and turn on SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) and SpywareGuard (http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html).

If these don't fix it, then I'd get more technical with the troubleshooting.
