View Full Version : I have questions about DSL w/ Online gaming!
I'm getting 784k/392k SDSL... Can any of you r33t internet users tell me what kind of ping i will get on average while playing tribes??? Also i live 8,000 feet away from the place. I have a 750 Athlon w/ 128mb RAM.
784/392 is not SDSL ("S" = symmetric or even up and down speeds), that's ADSL ("A" = asymmetric or uneven up and down speeds). Anyway, ur pings should be good, however, I can't say for sure b/c it depends on how close the server is and how ur routed to it.

If you like within 8k of the place you will see at least the advertised speed that you purchased
Kew, Thanks for the help... I really wasn't sure on what kind of "DSL" it was, but now i know. =)

When I had PacBell DSL, my guaranteed sync rate was 384Kbps, but I always got above 1Mbps and I was a little over 11,000ft away from my C/O.
