there have been a couple people asking about Look TV and Internet Services. Being a Look subscriber i must say it's the best damn service i've ever had for either TV or Internet. Right now i'm on the Ultrafast 1 service and i'm getting speeds from about 100kbs to 350kbs depending on how busy the server i'm downloading from is. To Basically give an example i was downloading about 50megs in 3-5 min last night at 3am when the net was not so busy. This is far and above what i ever got with dsl and it gives a good idea as to how it will be 3-4x faster with ultrafast 2. soooo to sum it all up is look any good? I would have to say YOU BET! Hope this helps anyone out there with questions. BTW as far as tv service goes. can't get any better. rogers is expensive and don't offer much in my area, satellite has lots of disruptions but it's cheap but you gotta buy the equipement, Look it's cheap, offers the same or more than satellite, you don't have to buy nothing and most importantly i've NEVER had a disruption http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

If you're not happy with your service you better go LOOK

Look is very fast, and the TV is crystal clear. After installing the patch sguide_tweak_98.zip , I at least doubled my download speed! But can I hook up 2 computers to Look? I have 3 nics, a hub, proxy software..do I run the Look to the hub uplink, or to the PC with 2 nics? and do I need to load the proxy software? help!

From what i've been told yes you can run it on your network. Of course look as all others won't support networking. you would want to set it up no different then if you were with cable or dsl really. i do believe it's all on the speedguide pages. i haven't got my network setup as of yet so i'm not of a whole lot of use sorry.

Thanks for the browser tweak tip...I didn't think it could get much better, but it is! I'm still having trouble sharing my Look, though...I've tried every combination with what I have, and I can only get the green lights on either one PC or the other...I've set up sympatico dsl on a network with no problems, but theres something different here, I think....btw, whats the technical term for the type of connection Look uses, is it dsl, broadband?

uhhhhhhh, look is satellite internet right? With 56k Upstream? Thats BS, you're hogging up the phone line and you can't play any FPS games online unless you're used to >300 ping

The max DSL can go right now is 120K/sec downstream BUT they're upgrading to 300K/sec soon, some ppl already got the newer Alcatel DSL modems, I can't wait http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

look isn't satelite it's digital wireless kinda like a cellular idea. depending on where you are it's only one way. many places are 2 way with a 4 meg download. as for the alcatel modem.. i had dsl with that modem. it sucked real bad..didn't matter what i did i couldn't go higher then 30kbs on my download. as for what the internet service is called well it's kinda a bit of both.. it's a cable modem with the dsl concept of a dedicated line as there are no lines and you're under a direct linkup. as for the one way connection being bs yes i agree but that's not a look thing that's a crtc thing but it's coming along quite smoothly though most areas should be bidirecional by christmas so i've been told.. oh and i play games just fine..better as a matter of fact http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

I think its around 35/month for internet and 20/month for basic tv...they're advertising the ultrafast 2 on their website for 39/month now...finally my phone-line will be free!! but I'm currently averaging 3000Kbps downloads, so theres no complaints here.. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

look is 29 for one way and 39 for two way. you don't need tv to get the service but the tv service is way better and cheaper than cable so it's a good idea to get both. and good to hear you got your bandwidth there coldfinger.
