VPN setup question

Hi, there:

I have a VPN setup question.

I need a VPN connection between two PCs in two locations.

Both ends are with XP-pro and cable modems;
Both ends are with D-link DI-614+ Wireless routers;
My ISP (Comcast) assigned both ends DHCP IP addreeses.

How to set this up if I don't have the static IP address for both ends?

You don't need both ends to have static IP, it'll work fine if one end is static.

Can call your ISP and upgrade at least one account to a static business grade account. If you NEED a VPN tunnel between sites it's prudent to upgrade both accounts to business grade accounts anyways, since there's higher uptime and faster repairs if there's an issue, compared to basic home grade broadband packages. Plus in the TOS for business accounts you're generally allowed to run any service you wish.

Can do VPN setups with Dynamic DNS services also if worse comes to worse and all you can get are dynamic IPs.

I prefer doing site to site VPN's using routers that support router to router VPN connections. Basic...Linksys BEFSX41. Better...Sonicwall products.
